It’s universally agreed that pets are actual family members and not just fuzzy home decor. So why not consider them in your home design? Carving out dedicated nooks for your animals enables them to have a space that belong to them, and can keep them out from under your feet. Under-cabinet beds, dedicated wash stations, hidden litter boxes, and cute food stations are all things to think about when making sure your home is just as nice for your animals as it is for you.
My favourite animal design moment is portals – little windows that your pets can peek out of, but they can stay warm and dry inside! If I’m honest, my cats have mismatched bowls in the kitchen, and they use the bathroom window as a cat door. If you can’t afford (or aren’t allowed) to do something fancy like the images above, try putting a nice placemat under your pets bowls and hanging up a little piece of animal-themed art. It’s a cheap solution that instantly makes your pets area a bit more special.
