Designer of the Month: Toll Brothers

Toll Brothers is one of the leading luxury home builders in the United States, as well as managing real estate, commercial development, and numerous other ventures. The┬ácompany has had a few major controversies which give them red flags in my book – but the houses that they design are often very beautiful. I love their video tours of properties, and they’re always good for inspiration! I’ve embedded a few of my favourites below. Maybe you’ll find something that you didn’t know you’d been looking for.

Remember that when it comes to building a house, there are a few things you really need to consider. Your first decision is whether to use a company like Toll Brothers that allows you to customise their current designs. Your second decision will be whether to use the contractors and service providers that your architecture company recommends, or whether you want to bring in your own team of tradespeople you know you can trust.

If you opt for using the team provided, ask if you can get numbers of previous clients and do a little snooping around. Most people will be happy to share their experience (good or bad) and this way, you have recommendations from people who actually live in these houses.

Lastly, you’ll want to research into any service provider you’re thinking about hiring. Read their press, their testimonials, and find out if they belong to any local or national organisations. When you’re having a house built, you’ll want to make sure that you’re hiring only the best and most trustworthy people. After all, this is going to be your home!

PS: I’m sorry that this is up so late! I’ve been having trouble sleeping and my productivity levels have virtually disappeared. I’ve been picking away at this all day after realising that I hadn’t written and scheduled it yesterday. Thank you so much for being patient and understanding.
