New York Suburbs Home by DeGraw and DeHaan Architects

This beautiful home, described by the architects as in “shingle style, updated Colonial” style, is an incredible combination of traditional structure and contemporary detailing. Featuring a serene master suite, a large kitchen, formal and informal dining, and an adorably bright childs bedroom, this is a home that will appeal to many people. The selling point for me is the grand exterior, despite the lack of outdoor entertainment/living space photos. Garaging for three cars, and a wet bar/butlers pantry area are added wonderful aspects.

My favorite things about this home are definitely the wood counter in the kitchen, the touches of black detailing throughout the home, and the beautiful purple kids bedroom. DeGraw and DeHaan have some other incredible projects on their Houzz profile, and are definitely worth checking out if you’re interested in more traditional exteriors. I think the only way this house could be improved is by adding a front porch area, and a decking space out the back. It would look really lovely with a white pergola and some wisteria draped over it.

PS: I don’t know what it is, but I really love properties that are close to a tree line. Trees are definitely one of my favorite plants, and are so beautiful all year round. I can just imagine waking up to the sounds of birds singing outside my window.
